This is so crazy!

One word... or sound...EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

My "ee's" can get pretty loud!

After long anticipation, we have released our single exclusivley on Facebook. Not only has there been anticipation from the fans, but for us as well!  You don't know how bad we want to just put everything up!!  But we know anticipation makes it that much greater!

So, we challenged our FB peeps to help us reach 500 fans in about 12-13 days and it was amazing to watch the numbers grow!!   In the begining it was like 7, 8, 9 fans a day then our first double digit number 10 fans in one day.  Before we knew it, BAM!! 15 fans in one day,  BOOYA!! 19 fans and one day KABOOM!!!! 30 fans in one day!!! It was so amazingly crazy!!!  I never expected that kind of response and all before we released any music.  Our friends and fans are so special!!! I luv u all!!

Right now I can't sit still!  It's hard for me to sit here and write this!  This album has been so long in the making, now I know how other artists feel, this is your baby!

We have put it together and watched it grow and now we are releasing it into the wild and it's scarier than shit!!,  but also very, very, very, very exciting!!  I can't seem to log off of the Ntuit FB Page.  I just keep hitting refresh to see if there's anymore comments!!! lol!! Ahhhhhh!!! This is so crazy!!!

Well, we are putting our hearts out there now, and nothing can stop it. Either people are gonna love it or hate it but at least we are doing it!  And either way Almon and I are satisfied with what we've created!

You vs. You: The Ultimate Face Off!

I was at the gym and saw this guy wearing a shirt that read “You vs. You.” As soon as I saw it I thought, “HOW F’ING TRUE!!” and was inspired to go longer, harder, faster, stronger on my cardio! Haha!  Afterwards, I started thinking how it is always you vs. you in everything.  Like when your working out and one voice says, “I can’t take it, I’m tired no more!” and the other one says, “You’re fine, go longer, if you quit now you’ll regret it later!”

It’s always you vs. you…addictions, habits, smoking, drinking, over eating, cleaning, over working, etc!  Seeing this quote made me want to strive to be better person in all that I do!  So, I’m gonna take a step back and reexamine the things I tell myself.  What have I been thinking/saying that is not making me move forward? And why?

I should of asked him where he got that shirt, DAMN!

We all know when were cheating ourselves but why do we do it? Why is it so hard sometimes to commit to ourselves? And how are we supposed to commit to others if we can’t commit to ourselves?

FOOD FABULOUS FOOD!

I have an addiction to yummy foods! If you know me, you know that and this addiction doesn’t allow me to take just one bite, it requires eating the all of whats is in front of me!!

Getting in “star shape” has been one of the biggest struggles for me. By no means do I feel big or fat, In fact I feel great, but on camera it really does add those 10lbs!! Being in the public eye requires me to look a certain way, we all know this, it aint new! And most celebs that are my height (5’ 2”) are about 98-110lbs. Trust me, I’ll never get that low, I’m to curvy and I love my curves!! But, I am 130 now, and trying to get to 120.

The workouts are easy for me, it’s this damn addiction to tasty treats that is trying to pull me down!!  Do any of you have this addiction? It’s not just hunger, it’s seeing something fabulous and your mouth starts to water and your stomach suddenly feels empty and you “need” to have it!!

Plus, so much of our life is based around food and drinks.  We meet out, to eat out with good friends and good food, but if we do it too much, well, we can end up over weight and over budget. So I’ve been trying to enjoy the company I keep more than the food I eat.

I know a lot of addictions are mental, so I’m trying to figure out what this infatuation is all about? Until then, I’m trying to just say,”NO!” to yummyness! But of course, I gotta have a cheat meal on my Sunday Fundays! ;>)

Ok, so that being said...What is your perfect cheat meal?  I'm lookin to try sumthin new:D

One word....Excitement!

Ahhhhhhh!!!!   Plan, plan, plan, prepare, prepare, prepare.   There is so much to do, but I love it all!  I am so excited to get on that stage and perform for you all!!  I really hope you can make it out to the release party, it's gonna be so much fun.  Sharing this experience with the best friends in the world is going to be... simply amazing!   I am so curious as to where this path is going to take us, hopefully to the top! woohoo!  See you there;)

Countdown 2 NTUIT!!!

We started it all this week.  The count down page, social network pages and picture debuts. It’s so great to hear everyone’s responses! 

I ran into a friend at the gym. He told me how he was at a barbeque with friends and they were all searching online for anything they could find on the album! They searched Google, Yahoo, our website to see if anything else would be after the intro music, iTunes, etc! Ha ha! I loved it! I love the anticipation that he told me they all have! I have listened to our music for so long, that it has been hard not to share anything yet! It’s nice to see others are as impatient as me! But it is coming, very soon!!!

It All Happens 4 A Reason

I was having a really bad week and stressing out hard! Since we are doing this whole project without a label or sponsors the expenses were adding up really fast and we didn’t have all the money we needed. We were racking our brains trying to think of extra ways to earn some money. Knowing all this, I made myself say everyday,” It will all work out. It will all work out.” And, it did! The Universe is a strange miraculous thing.  It really does bring you what you ask for and I believe, at that moment you have truly have committed to what you are doing, it conspires to assist you.  Thank you Universe! It will all work out:>)

FEELIN SO GOO:D

Just had a meeting with the owner of the venue for the release party.  I cannot explain the feelings I have inside me right now. I feel blessed, appreciated, excited, lucky, etc!

Tonight was the first night I showed the owner anything! He is a great friend/mentor of mine and since he has known me from when I started all this, it was great to see his reaction! I shared with him the artwork for the album, release party ideas, and played him a couple tracks off the album. His response was amazing! He made all my fears that I had in that moment disappeared. This was the first time showing anyone this and for it to go so well was amazing! He told Almon and I how proud he was of us and that we filled him with pride. It was such a great moment for us both.

We had a meeting with friends who will be helping us out with the album and let them hear a couple tracks. Their response on top of the response we got from the owner made us feel like the time is now! We are happy with our project, we did it ourselves and it will be great! I’m so grateful for moments that have happened like this, moments that make me want to keep going!

SO YOU THINK U CAN DANCE?!

We had our dancer auditions and I could of not been happier with the turnout! I’m so happy that I have been in the dancer community and have great friends who helped me judge. One of my friends is a director of dance at a college and she already knew some of the dancers and if they were dependable or not!* Gotta love having the inside scoop!

Its a small world and an even smaller world with in an industry. And no matter what field you're in your gonna run in to the same people again and again.  So, it might be a good idea to be professional and not to burn bridges, because as I say,

ALBUM VOCALS

I never realized all the vocal work that goes into albums until our project. The harmony tracks, whisper tracks, over lay of vocals, etc!  Now I find myself listening to albums and finding the harmonies and the small sound effects that bring it to life that much more. Learn something new everyday!

NO HOLDING BACK

I started dance in college then went into acting then into singing. By starting all these at a later age, I think I found my passion and love it that much more. I always wanted to take these classes but never had the chance until college. I learned that all these art forms are connected by the same guidelines;
            - What do you want?
            - Don’t hold back.
            - Love what you’re doing.

It has been awesome connecting all those in this project. Even if nobody likes this album and it never sells, I can at least say to myself, “ I did it!” And I am so proud of that. I think getting rid of the fear is the biggest step. I am putting my self out there and allowing myself to be vulnerable, and it has not been easy! But that is another thing that you learn in these art forms, let your ego go!!!  I love that!! I say it’s never to late to do what you love, as long as you are committed to it, it will happen when it is supposed to.

ALL THIS SHIZ!!

I finally understand why going into this industry can drive you crazy! I cannot even imagine going into this being a “teen star”. I would have had no clue of what all the legal documents have meant, where all the money goes, everything that needs to be done and why! I’m so happy I’m at a point where I am in charge and understand what I’m doing. Nobody is leading my career path for me, I’m doing what I love for myself!

There is so much that has to be done a part of me wants to be that oblivious again and not know about it all! From the driving back and forth for all the documents that have to be put through for owning your own company, to Album stuff, to Release party stuff, to marketing, etc. I can now see why you need an assistant! All this extra crap was never in my mind, I just wanted to make an album! I see why artists would not want to go through it all the way. When all you want to do is create,  thinking about all the business side of things can get overwhelming. No wonder you sign your life away to a record label, they deal with all this shiz for you! But, they also take so much.

Almon and I have been doing this all ourselves, and learning on the way. I’m thankful everyday for the great mentors and business owners who have helped us and guided us in the right direction. It was nice that Almon ran his own multi-media business before all this, it has made him have a huge knowledge of this business. I encourage everyone going into this to have some business sense because you are your own business!

WELCOME :O)

I am so looking forward to sharing this whole crazy ride with everyone!  This album has been a long time i the making and I am incredibly excited about it's release.  But, I'm even more excited about performing!!!  We are planning to incorporate a bunch of different styles of dance into our shows.  IT'S GONNA BE SO MUCH FUN!!

Beyond the fun I also want to share all the work that goes in to everything, from idea to actually doing it and making it happen.  Cause that's what it's all about making it happen, fulling those dreams.

And lastly I will be constantly encouraging you, if you haven't already, to take that first step and stick with it.  It takes time and a lil work but we can all make our dreams come true.
